Winter in Wartime

I love foreign movies and watch them a lot but this movie isn't even worth being on iTunes. Extremely bad directed movie. The sets are bad, the actors, the story and the script has absolutely no other stakes than the obvious ones. Feels more like an art or student movie to me.

i hadn't realised it was a Dutch movie with sub-titles, but some really good acting and the story was good…very impressed with this Dutch movie!

This movie is really well done -- great visual feast that accurately conveys the times the movie portrays. Though the Director tries to create and maintain tension throughout, the movie did not have me on edge though it did have me looking forward -- curious to see how the story would unfold. In other words, it was neither a nail-bighter nor were there thunderbolts of startling discovery. There was for me, however, a constant tug in my gut brought on by the knowing that something grave was unfolding. The ending was poignant.

slow. not very realistic. and the moody main character is in frame nearly the entire movie.

This is an excellent story that captures the essence of life during war. As an audience member, I was immersed in this movie right away, and instantly felt sympathy for the main character. If you like adventures and mysteries, and you appreciate the backdrop of WWII, then you will love this movie.
