I want to rescue elephants! Such an incredible journey. I hope this documentary continues to bring awareness and compassion, and turns all trekking companies into protectors of all amazing elephants.

Love & Bananas is a brilliant documentary exposing the cruel treatment of elephants in Southeast Asia, and highlighting the amazing group of humans who are moving mountains to save them. I'll admit, there were some scenes that were hard to watch -- but that's exactly why we have to watch them. Because without acknowledging the painful truth of what these beautiful creatures have to face, we cannot make change happen. Every bit of this film - the production, the music, the camera work - made it such a special experience. The team behind Love & Bananas does an incredible job of empowering its audience to care about the last of the Asian Elephants and to act now.

Love and Bananas is a beautiful film. There is a conscious effort by the filmmakers to put you, the viewer, into the scene. Not a “talking-head” documentary, in Love and Bananas the aesthetic and feel is as important as the message. Through rich cinematography and powerful editing, the filmmakers show you the majesty and intelligence of the largest land mammals on earth while demonstrating the scale of their mistreatment and it’s dire consequences. It is impossible not to feel empathy and a connection to these animals. A memorable sequence takes place right in the middle of the film, during a particular section of the journey to bring Noi Na, a 70-year old blind elephant, from captivity to freedom, where there is no dialogue or voice over, with the story being propelled by John McCarthy’s skillful editing of suspenseful footage. The filmmakers commit to showing and not telling—and they get results. This film is beautiful, affective, and will make you feel the plight of these elephants. So many documentaries make you feel hopeless, but that’s not the case with Love and Bananas. You leave the film amazed by elephant activist Lek Chailert and encouraged that one person can make a difference. See this film today.

I am a returning volunteer to Elephant Nature Park and this movie conveys the feelings of love, healing, and freedom that embody ENP and the founder Lek. It’s a place that heals everyone, including humans, and the documentary captures that heart and soul through Noi Na’s story. Thank you for making this documentary for the world to know Lek and ENP better.
