Steve Peat is a living legend to anyone who has followed downhill racing in the past 20 years, both for his riding and his charisma. This film is excellently directed and produced, covering the history of the sport for roughly the first half of the film (which contains significant Steve Peat coverage and awesome vintage footage of the sport’s founding fathers) and segueing into the incredible story of Peaty’s determination for the second half. Hard to hold back the emotions in the final minutes. An incredible story by any measure and a worthy tribute to the most respected man in mountain biking.

The storytelling here is just simply incredible, you don’t even have to live in the cycling or racing world to simply enjoy this film. The storytelling breaks it down to the simple quest of a human who never saw defeat like most people. Steve’s a true sportsman and though you could tell he was upset, he cheered on his mates and I feel that’s what made his victories so extraordinary.

I don't understand the 5 stars for this at all. This is not the story of Steve Peat. This is the story of world down hill mountain bike racing. You will get extremely limited info on the life of Steve Peat. It would have been great to see how he met his wife, how he trains, how his training has changed over the years, what kind of bike he rides and why. This movie contains very limited footage of Steve over the course of the last 15 years. So that's not good. Now to the mountain biking footage. It's terrible, absolutely terrible. Perhaps about 10% of this film includes Steve Peat on a bike, the rest of it is some foul mouthed Brit narrating and a bunch of other guys riding bikes and winning races. Wasted potential on the part of the film makers. Wasted money on the part of me.

Honestly most mountain bike movies are pretty formulaic…and boring. This one breaks the rules. Great storytelling, beautiful images, inspiring message. Bravo Clay and John. Well done!

Brillant…….thank you for summarising not only these brilliant characters but also for catching the true spirit of what it was like to start a sport from scratch in the UK. I was lucky enough to experience some of this story line and the film makers have caught it perfectly…….Gents you are true pioneers and it was a pleasure to have met you.

Never knew the backstory behind one of the world’s best DH racers. To have his competitors and friends tell it, shows how well liked he is and the impact he had on so many others’ lives. Well done mates!

This is finally a tale of a sports hero, in mountain bike racing, that has the potential to reach into the mainstream. As a documentary, the Steve Peat story line is engaging on paper alone, but to meet the man and get to know him in this movie, is even better. I loved the movie, wanted more. Crafted so well by the story tellers, Bike movie of the year…Bravo!
