It is a good movie but it does kind of run a little slow. Great performances with a very interesting story. This definitely deserves that NC-17 rating. Do not let kids watch. Don't pay attention to the one star rating. They are just boring and uncultural people.
Great actors. Boring movie.

Great actors. Great acting. Poor story development. Boring story. Wish I could return it or resell it.
Not an action movie

Just got this movie , loved it , is a slow drama about a sex compulsive and his sister and how they did with relationships.
The movie makes you think , if you like dramas with great acting and where not all the answers are given to you , but you must deduct from it then this movie is for you.
Interesting to say the least

It's how a real movie should be. Straight shooter. Dark. Honest. True. Brilliant acting. Directing.

Beware there is full-fontal male nudity in the first scene with full-fontal female nudity and far too many sex scenes.

I can't believe my hard earned money use to play the NL when into making this scrap! The NL needs to be audited on how it givens out NL funds.

It was so AMAZING. It was disturbing and dramatic about addiction. I was blown away.

What a beautiful performance by Michael Fassbender! A story of a damaged & broken man. Alone & uncomfortable in being alone but more uncomfortable being in a relationship. So well done in showing the self loathing & self inflicted emotional pain of a sex addict. Hats off to Steve McQueen. Beautifully haunting. The soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous! Carey Mulligan, excellent too.

Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan do masterful jobs as a dysfunctional sister and brother. The film is too vague in what has caused these two to be so disturbed. That might have been Steve McQueen's intent. So it is left to the viewer's imagination. James Badge Dale is very good as the sleazy boss. Nicole Beharie gives a good performance as the friend/lover who unsuccessfully tries to understand Brandon. I did not care for the abrupt ending.
