so glad I only rented it and did not spend the money buying this...Shakespeare's written work can be adapted (for the non-purist reference) but not savagely truncated to suit the actors' lack of presence and energy.... I stopped watching shortly after they truncated Lady M's Unsex me speech to suit the actress... Lots of very good actresses have played this part and managed to actually take the audience on their internal journey (i.e. made them feel something) with less special effects, lighting, and other cinematographic help...: Dame Judi Dench, Cate Blanchett, Kate Winslet, Kate Fleetwood, Anne-Marie Duff... long list, all different interpretations, all more alive and credible. In some scenes I can barely hear what she says, at times it looks like King Duncan can't either... has she ever been to Scotland and tried to be heard in the freezing winds? I am not even going to start with Banquo at the beginning... Can anyone on set tell these actors what the words mean? Honesly, when is commercialism going to realize that only true art endures.
