Great role for Cheadle, inane plot

Miles Davis was a great....well, you and I know he was a great jazz musician but Miles Ahead documents that he was also a fabulous addict as well. Isn't that a fine subject to make a tribute movie about?
No doubt it was an ego trip for Cheadle to act in this movie. He plays the role very well, hence two stars.
This is one of those movies that the actor gets to "sink his teeth into" but it leaves the viewer with little but that Miles Davis was an addict and Mikes Davis was so much more than that.
Not reflective of the gravity of the Miles Davis Legacy

This was well acted, well shot , lit and recorded. It had good costumes and continuity. As far as the story goes its a flop.
The more you know about the history of Jazz and Black American Music and African American culture the less you will like this bit of entertainment.
The profundity of the Miles Davis Legacy goes entirely unreflected by this some what pittiful money grab.
Its a drag that this is all that the talent involved was able to achieve with the money spent.
Truly disapointing .
You have to see it if your a fan but you will be left wondering why this weak thing was made.
Close to being utterly flatulent .
Check what Dick Gregory has to say about this flick.
You have been warned.
Entertaining Shot of Miles!

This is the 2nd time I’ve seen this film, and loved it both times. It’s not a convention biopic in that it gives us Miles at a really low point in his life and frequently flashes back to connect him to Miles on the rise. The man was so complicated, I’m not sure whether it’s possible to convey his entire life in a 2 hr film, but Cheadle succeeds in giving us a hefty slice that satisfies. No way Ian McGregor belonged in this film, but they made it work and it was very funny.

I wasn't feeling "the reason and the rhyme" of the story, so, I turned it off after about 10 minutes of viewing. However, it might be a good story to other people.
Well done.

This is one of the better music biopics I've seen. This is a difficult genre to get right and Cheadle & co really pulled it off.
Great Movie

I absolutely loved this movie. Don Cheadle really embraced the essence of Miles Davis.
