Boring with a terrible photographer and the food lost the importance. If you read the book Noma you can`t believe this is true or even if you watched Chef`s table you`ll understand that something is wrong.

Brilliant portrait of high end dining.

I would have enjoyed this documentary much more if the protagonist and the main Chef stopped using the F and the S words every 2 sentences. The English language has enough subtlety to describe experiences without vulgar superlatives.

Sadly, the film cements and proves that the part that founder and chef René Redzepi called their pretentious attitude at the outset of his venture is still very much alive. Maybe the cooking has improved since then but you never quite lose the impression that these guys are trying a little bit too hard to come off more as philosophers than chefs and it does not do justice to either. In an ironic and slightly sad way the film tries hard to make the point that René and his team to not care for accolades and Michelin Stars only to end with the award ceremony showing the Noma crew caring deeply about regaining the top spot of some world's best restaurant list. This together with the completely unnecessary scene showing the chef giving his team a talking to because they try and sell him thyme for lemmon thyme, a film making ploy we are all too familiar with from Gordon Ramsey's never ending television series, go to prove that the director or editor or both have done a terrible job of portraying the work and achievements of a chef and his team. This film does not do Noma justice and is a cobbled together montage of cliches. Instead of leaving us with the sensation that we have witnessed something great and unusual, we're left with the impression that we have just been consuming soil and ants served to us by a band of pretentious tatooed and bearded hipsters with dirty fingernails.

Wasn't sure what to expect really. I figured that of course it wouldn't be all food, but expected a little more. It was extremely insightful about the roughest year Noma has endured. I think I just expected to much, but I would still recommend to any of my chef friends who follow Chef Rene.

Let’s face it, i’m not going to make it to Noma. But this movie got me in the doors. Food aficionados will need to see this.

This very well might be the must-see food documentary of the year. Without a doubt, one of the most influential chefs on the planet. He changed and continues to change the world.
